The weather here in Sedona has settled into its regular winter pattern of temperatures in the mid-high ’50s. Even though this may be our coldest weather of the year, it’s still perfect weather to go for a hike on the Courthouse Butte Loop, which just so happens to be adjacent to our property at the Canyon Villa Bed and Breakfast. Sedona is one of the most scenic areas in all of Arizona, and, thankfully, that beauty is easy to enjoy on great hikes like the Courthouse Butte Loop.
We sometimes get asked when is the best time to visit Sedona and to explore its amazing attractions like the Chapel of the Holy Cross. There’s not a straight answer to that question, as we enjoy Sedona all year long. Truthfully, Sedona’s weather is pretty mild year-round, and it’s a wonderful 4-season destination.
As we speed towards Labor Day Weekend and what is, for many, the unofficial end to summer, we find ourselves looking forward to the upcoming fall season in Sedona. Though Sedona is unlike most popular fall destinations, it offers an incredible opportunity to watch the changing of the seasons. As the fall colors change against the dramatic background of the red rocks, you’ll find yourself mesmerized by the sheer beauty of this place. There’s no place finer to watch the fall colors unfold than a scenic drive through Oak Creek Canyon. Sedona is a great place to visit no matter the season, but fall is special. There are miles upon miles of hiking and biking trails, excellent bird watching, and incredible desert landscapes to photograph.
