It’s been said that the hikes in Sedona and Verde Valley are among the most beautiful trails in the world. We couldn’t agree with that more. While there are more trails to hike than we can possibly mention in one blog, here are 10 trails you simply can’t miss the next time you stay with us in Sedona:
- The iconic Bell Rock is one of Sedona’s most recognizable landmarks. Guests enjoy views of this incredible rock from our Bed and Breakfast, so it’s only natural that it ranks at the top of our list for hikes to take in Sedona. Hike to the top via the he Bell rock pathway trail, which links up to the Bell Rock Vista Trail head and the Little Horse Trailhead, and you’ll enjoy views of Courthouse Butte.
- Devil’s Bridge Trail is one of the most iconic and beautiful trails in all of Sedona. If you’re short on time, this is one of the most recommended hikes to take in Sedona. Not only will you find yourself standing on Sedona’s largest natural sandstone arch, but you’ll enjoy stunning views of Red Rock Country.
- Sedona’s Teacup Trail is a great place to head if you want a trail close to town or if you don’t have a car, but still want picture-perfect views of the Red Rocks. It’s also pretty easy for beginning hikers, and offers some truly unique scenery not seen elsewhere.
- Hiking to Cathedral Rock takes you on a short but challenging trail, and occasionally involves some scrambling near the top. It’s worth it, though, for the views from the top.
- From the top of Doe Mountain Trail, you’ll enjoy 360 degree views of Sedona’s top landmarks, which includes Wilson and Bear mountain, along with Boynton and Secret Canyon.
- Head to Airport Mesa, to take one of Sedona’s 4 Vortex hikes. Not only will you enjoy the healing energy of the area, but it’s also one of the most stunning hikes in the area, offering 360 degree views. If you’re looking to catch a magical sunset, this is definitely a place to consider.
- Boynton Canyon is the perfect hike through a box canyon, and is one of the most diverse trails in the area. This breathtaking canyon hike is filled with beautiful desert landscape and scenery, but also forests with a variety of biodiversity.
- Carousel (Merry-Go-Round) Rock is a bit of a longer hike in the Sedona area, but it’s views are coveted, and make for an especially dramatic background for engagements and weddings.
- The Cookstove Trail is another beautiful hike, that rewards your efforts with panoramic views of Oak Creek Canyon area, which is filled with colorful rock formations and lush green forests of ponderosa pines, sycamore, and cypress trees.
- Head to Red Rock State Park, and you’ll enjoy less congested and still just-as-beautiful trails, such as the Eagles Nest Loop. It’s a great place for birdwatching, too.
