Embrace the Holidays in Sedona: Feasts, Festivities, and Festive Lights

The holidays in Sedona are magical, filled with warm days, glowing nights, and festive cheer. We love sharing this season with guests who want to trade snowy streets for sunny red rocks.

Sip cocoa under sparkling lights, browse handcrafted treasures, and enjoy that undeniable holiday spirit. Our town sparkles with charm; every corner offers something to make your holiday memorable.

And because Canyon Villa understands that travelers are more mindful of their vacation budgets. We’ve reduced our fall and holiday rates, making it easier than ever to enjoy the wonder of Sedona this season.

Holiday Magic in Sedona’s Red Rock Wonderland

The holidays in Sedona bring a beauty that feels almost unreal. Our red rocks and golden oaks glow under the winter sky. Some years, a light snowfall adds a soft sparkle to the landscape. We always tell our guests that this is the season when Sedona’s natural charm and holiday spirit meet.

A visit to Tlaquepaque in December is pure joy. Stroll through streets lined with festive lights and charming window displays. You might see Santa greeting families or hear carolers singing in delightful Dickens-style attire. Shops and galleries open their doors with sweet treats, food, special discounts, and exclusive holiday giveaways. It’s the perfect spot to find one-of-a-kind gifts for the people you love most.

If you’re joining us in November, you can start your holiday season with a Sedona Thanksgiving. Share a special meal, explore the trails, and enjoy the company of those who matter most. When December arrives, the magic only grows — and we’ll be here to welcome you for every moment.

Is Sedona a good place to visit at Christmas?

Absolutely — the holidays in Sedona mean fewer crowds, cooler days, and plenty of festive charm. A big perk of visiting in December is hiking popular trails without the midday rush. Parking at trailheads in spring and fall can be difficult; winter is much easier.

December also brings some of our favorite holiday traditions. The annual Sedona Tree Lighting in early December offers refreshments and a visit from Santa. Mid-December brings the Holiday Sweet Stroll, when Tlaquepaque transforms into a storybook scene with lights and carolers.

You can also drive the Red Rock Scenic Byway, a short but breathtaking 7.5-mile route. Plan time to stop at each lookout point and enjoy the view. And when night falls, bundle up, bring hot cocoa, and head to one of our favorite stargazing spots. Sedona is one of only twenty certified Dark Sky Communities worldwide, making our winter skies memorable.
